The Writing Chronicles: Finishing Book 6

And what’s coming next…

The Holiday Assist wasn’t my easiest book to write. In fact, I wrestled with so many parts of it throughout the writing process. It was a struggle, a fight. Even though I loved the characters and the story, for some reason, this one was hard for me to write.

But it’s finished. I do have another round of edits that I’m currently working on. Fine-tuning everything and adding a little more depth to some of the scenes. But overall, this book is finished. At the end of the month, I’ll be sending it to my proofreader, and in mid to late November, I’ll be sending out ARCs for the December 3rd release day!

So, what else am I working on?

Back in May, I wrote most of the first draft of Starlight Springs, book 1. But I had to put it down so I could write The Holiday Assist. I do think that’s part of why writing THA was so difficult for me; my mind and heart were already in Starlight Springs, and I wanted to be there. I’ve wanted to be there all year. And now it’s time.

I’m starting from the beginning of the book. Rewriting some chapters, while only editing others. I also need to write the ending because I never did (sorry, beta readers!)

I’ve been sharing my writing journey for book six over on Patreon, but for this book (and series), I’ll be sharing my journey here on my website. If you want to be notified every time I share an update (about once a week), fill out the form below, and you’ll receive an email with each writing update.

I’ll be back every week with writing progress, how things are going, what I’m working on, and what I’m feeling. I can’t wait to share more with you
