Meet Parker and Jules from The Holiday Assist
Whenever I’m writing a book, the characters always come to me first. I had different characters in mind for The Holiday Assist, but it turns out, this wasn’t their story.
So, Jules and Parker came to be and once I figured that out, writing became a whole lot easier!
Juliet AKA Jules Morgan is a professional soccer player. She plays for the US team, but didn’t make it to the Olympics because of an injury. She’s been playing soccer since she was five, and loves the game. At twenty-eight, she’s at the height of her career.
When she’s not on the field, she prefers to be at home, most likely curled up with a fantasy novel. She loves Christmas, but her mom never really celebrated the holiday with her while growing up, which is why she’s very excited to be visiting Winterbrook and enjoy all of their holiday festivities.
She’s got a touch of anxiety (but doesn’t know it yet) and she thinks her best friend’s younger brother is totally hot.
Meet Parker Miller.
Nerd extraordinare. He’s a math professor working toward getting a PhD in math, which he hopes to finish by the age of twenty-six, if not sooner.
He suffers from generalized anxiety disorder, which makes him throw himself into his work (and that’s also why he graduated high school with his associates degree done and almost finished his bachelor’s too.) He loves reading and math and prefers to spend the holiday in his office on campus, working on his PhD work.
But, this year, when his sister Blair asked (more like forced) him to come with her and Jules to a charity event that Jules had been asked to be a part of, he said yes. Because his biggest secret? He’s always had a crush on his sister’s best friend, despite the three year age difference.
He’s loyal to a fault, loves working out (helps him clear his head), and he knows how to calm Jules down when she has an anxiety attack.
