My Thoughts About Publish and Thrive

This post was originally published on my old website.

Last summer, as I was plotting out book 1, an author friend of mine shared about a course called Publish and Thrive. This course had been helpful to her in being more successful as an indie author. At the time, I was drowning in the overload of information about self-publishing. I wasn't sure I was ever going to figure it out.

I promptly signed up for the course, and I can say it was one of the best purchases I've ever spent on my business.

If you are planning to self-publish, I highly recommend looking into this course and buying it for yourself! It starts again on February 7th and then you'll have lifetime access.

What I enjoyed about the course:

  1. I LOVE how thorough Sarra (the instructor) is. She gives you so much information, at a very steady pace that will help you know all the basics about publishing. While the course is meant to be done in 5 weeks, because you have lifetime access, you don't have to rush. Which was great news for me as a mom who doesn't have a ton of hours every week to go through the entire week's worth at once. That's okay, there's a lot of info, but you've got the time!

  2. Where and how to publish. As someone who's been writing, blogging, and now jumping into this author thing all on her own, Google has been my best friend. Sarra goes into depth about the major places you can publish e-books and physical copies and how to use each site.

  3. Tracking your sales. Maybe this is a minor thing to some people, but I love Sarra's method. And while I haven't hit publish yet, I'm glad to have this info on hand and the resources to get started.

Truly, this course was a huge blessing in my life and I have already returned to some of the lessons as I get to that part of my publishing journey. Publish and Thrive showed me that I can do what I love and make a living from it.
