The Writing Chronicles: Book 8
Oh hey, long time no see over here on my blog or this series. It’s back (for the moment) as I draft and work on book 8.
How is it possible that I’m writing my 8th book? Why does it feel like I have no idea what I’m doing?
But, here we are.
I just ordered a couple of books to help me out with research for the main characters jobs, since they aren’t things I really know much about and I want to showcase them in the best light.
In writing news: I’ve restarted this book THREE times and I think I finally like where the book starts out. This one is tackling things I’ve never written about before, and that makes it hard to get the characters just right at the beginning. They’ve both got a lot of pain and heartache, and I feel like I’ve written so many books where the MMC (male main character) is head over heals for the FMC (female main character) right from the start, and that simply isn’t the case with this book.
Yes, this one might be the slowest burn I’ve ever written. But it’s also going to be so tender and wonderful. My goal for the month of September? To write as much of the first draft as I can. (The real goal is to have draft 1 done by mid October, so that I can revise it at least once before sending it to my developmental editor in November.)
Also, I guess I can tell you that this is Starlight Springs book 2. I am also working on a holiday book, but I am pushing that back to next year, since I’m working full time + going to school right now and don’t have the time to get a holiday book out (that’s the quality I want my books to be) by December. So, that one is still happening, just in 2027.
Anyway. I’m excited to be writing. Happy to be sharing more frequent updates with you (hopefully every Wednesday.) And I can’t wait for more of my books to be out in the world!
